Will Cody bring up his best hurlers to play the Rebels, this should be the game of the league. Cork fired up over the thrashing last year, Kilkenny fired up over the Stepford wives craic! Local CCB expect around 15,000.
I expect Cork to win, hope the Cats bring a good team otherwise it would be too bloodless!

All Cork is waiting for this one, no one humiliates us boy and can expect to get away with it for very long!
We will beat them well, but it really depends on whether Cody will show his hand at this time of the year!

The five in a row will be hard to take from a Cork perspective all right.

Sure would, but sure we`ve buried the hatchet here so it would be the first year in a while where we can actually concentrate on beating them. Tipp failed last year so we`ll have to do the business and we will.

Don`t think Cody will be worried about showing his hand seeing as his team picks up the Liam Mccarthy on TV most Septembers???

I´m looking forward to the Cork tactics this year,I´m sure they have a plan to overcome Kk but I wonder will it be revealed in the league, the two big men, ball winners, in the forwards looks interesting though. The long fast delivery might unhinge the KK defence,it could be an interesting year.

cork playing clare in fermoy tonigh and interestingly aisake is full forward and cussen half forward so i think there is a serious effort to try and play both of them with mark o sullivan going to start centre forward and the pat horgan and fraggie murphy in the corners. it will be betweeen niall mac/cian maccarthy and ben o connor for the final wing forward slot.
kk will be a great test but will have too much of for a cork tema with a new forard line and an underperforming centre back

just remember there will come a day in the not too distant future when other teams will get revenge on kilkenny..things can change around very quickly.
whether cork will beat them sunday week doubtful at present. we`re still rebuilding and are not settled enough yet.
it wasn`t too long ago and kilkenny only scored 9 pts against us in an all ireland final and walsh shefflin et al were playing. kilkenny just like we were in 2006 have reached their peak but thats not to say they can`t still win it this year.

Its up to every other county to reach where KK have got to. Its only a league game in March, fair enough it might give some pointer to where Cork are but its all about August and September for KK

The "Stepford Wifes" quote never really bothered anybody in KK.As far as we`re concerned it`s just jealousy on D og Cusack `s part.I read his book and found his obsession with KK quite funny. In a way he was paying us a backhanded compliment without even realising it.
As for the match Sunday week,i`m looking forward to it.It should be a great game and i think a lot closer than the corresponding fixture last year, but the result will have very little relevence come championship time.I don`t know what sort of team Cork will put out but whatever it is it will be playing a KK team with only half it`s All/ire team playing which should just about even up the sides nicely.

Cody will have half a team playing....and the first team players that may get back by then will have had hardly any game time.... make no doubts about it Cody couldn`t care less about losing to Cork in the Pairc if it helps keep his boys fresh for a possible 5 in a row challenge. The stepford wives jibe will certainly not be used at this stage of the game.....but it maybe used later in the year if they meet in the championship....that said...that`s only the opinion of one eeejit down in Cork, who`s mouth is the biggest part of him.

This stepford wives thing is blown out of all proportion. In other books the respect between both teams is well spoken about. Sure didnt Cody say the cork team doctor was the first to call him after Ger Loughnane started saying KK were a dirty team who aimed for opponents wrists? I hope DW doesnt send his team out to hyped up for this one, although he seems quiet a calm fella really. Full respect to KK they are the yardstick for all counties. If Cork avoid a heavy defeat i`ll be happy. Tis only march lads........ QUOTE]Originally posted by mercury:

Revenge at this stage would be impossible especially for the Tipp/Cork/Galways of the hurling world bar one of them winning the first of their 5 in a row this year and annihilating KK several times on the way.
The second part of your statement however is very true and KK have most definitely hit their peak I would even go as far as to say they hit it in March/April of last year. I know its hard but the last 10 minutes in the new stand in Nowlan Park last April will be my ultimate bring to the grave/tell the gran kids hurling memory (that includes every All Ireland too ) .Well overdone in the media but it is now time for Cork/Tipp/Galway to meet Kk at their level - God help poor Liam Sheedy if Tipp dont do it this year!

Don`t know about revenge or whatever it be called been impossible, to most fans one All Ireland in the present , is worth as many All Irelands as you want in the past.
Even this great KK team will become yesterdays news, if there are new AI champions this year, the media will find new heroes, that won`t include Walsh or Sheflin etc, it is the way of sport, and no one knows this more than Brian Cody, thus the never ending desire for him to finish top every year

Maybe if kilkenny didnt have a bye to the all ireland for the last 10 years then maybe he wouldnt be thinking that far ahead. Also can we have anybody but Dermot "Offaly" Kirwan and Barry "Cody" Kelly ref kilkenny matches this year. Bring back the Tipp lad...!!!!
