The pictures look damning but how come the ref did not do anything as it appears to be to his face. Terrible result for Liverpool, 4th spot is open to anyone up there who can put a run together.

Gerrard was just gone past the ref when he did it so I don`t think he noticed it. In fairness to Gerrard it was a joke that the ref gave a free against him for the tackle on McCarthy in the first place but to give him a yellow card for it was very, very harsh. It wasn`t even a free kick it was a fair tackle

I reckon he was sayin to the ref he had only commites 2 fouls and did not deserve to be booked.
Faldo... C`mon now you can not refer to Stevie G as a joke of a man.. He is one of the finest footballers we will see in our lifetimes. You know that

Did anyone see how James McCarthy played?
I don`t think the Wigan pitch is great at the moment but I`d be interested to hear from anyone who saw the match

Looks much more like he was pointing out to the ref that it was only his 2nd foul or something. Even Gerrard is not daft enough to give the fingers straight to the ref`s face and I believe the ref has already confirmed this.
You`d want to get over your Liverpool fixation in fairness.

i dont have a fixation with l`pool (but i do like to see them not going well ) as for the 2 fingers it clearly is 2 fingers to the ref (fcuk off ) stevie wasnt getting it his own way, simple as.hes had a p****z poor season.
if paul macshane or some other lesser known player did this he would probably would have got a straight red and loads of media crap after..FACT

Well you seem to start enough threads about them anyway. I`m not sure if you are a United or even an Everton fan or something but you`d want to give it a rest for your own sanity.

Faldo i like way you follow the blues but your hatred of liverpool is a bit mad. The real scousers dont hate each other that much. Your right about Gerrard when not going well he does these mad tackles (everton a few years ago ) and he did stick his fingers up not to say it was only his second foul.
Someone asked how Mccarthy played, look at Gerrards reaction that we speak off. Mccarthy cleaned him when he was near him. Great display by him

So its ok to repeatedly swear at a referee or linesman, like Rooney has done, but its not ok to give a ref a V sign, like Gerrard has done?
