I always regarded Moloney as one of the best commentators in RTE. He adds excitement to the game and knows what he is talking about. He did some excellent work in the early rounds of the championship this year but was overlooked for the AI Finals when that gobdaw Canning took the mike. I thought he might have got the Camogie Final but the Betty Boop lookalike got that gig.

Is he still with RTE? I could have sworn I heard him briefly on a promo on Sky Sports recently. I can't be sure but he'd be a loss to Gaelic Games television coverage if it is true.

still with rte as far as i know...he's good but could loose some of the old cliches..he usually says 'and the defence were all over the place''.. ' they look in dissary'..which might not necessarly have been the case he's getting better though..

Hes a brilliant commentator. Every commentator has their own unique cliches.

Moloney's a good, solid, professional commentator. However, he seems far better than he actually is because most of the others are so awful.

As I've said before Moloney is the best - nobody on RTE Radio or TV comes within an asses roar of him. Who the hell ignores him behind Canning Hamilton Morrissey and Carney ? though the latter seems to have disappeared recently.
