We got told we were going to be nominated for one of these award nights a few years back to much delight in the company. Until we were told that to be officially nominated we needed to book a table for the night at 1500 euros a table .
We regretfully declined our nomination

Probably banned by the Red Head One back in the day, hence the surprising omission.

We had a similar experience as well. The year we entered, the Sports award went to some gym somewhere that is probably closed down now. We`re not saying WE should have won - just that a commercial site promoting a gym wasn`t exactly our idea of a `sports` web site.
These are the eircom Golden Spiders in another guise. The nominations are `self` nominated i.e. you pay a fee (it used to be €100 or €150 ) and you are added to the list of `nominations` If you get `shortlisted` you`re asked to fork out for a `table for ten`.

Are you saying that more people on this site know more about the celeb scene than the GAA scene - - surly not !

I work in the civil service up norteh and I get an email once a week from a company in England with a list of awards that I should enter myself for. Not only that, they guarantee me that I will win two awards within a year or I don`t have to pay their fee!

This is the best Irish sports based website on the Internet - Bar None.
NoWhere even comes close.
It has the most registered users than anywhere.
It also has quality articles along with quantity of posts.
We dont need some reward to know we are the best.
