Have ya heard betting has been suspended in bookmakers over Billy Morgan being a surprise choice for Galway?
Seems an odd choice. I thought you have Lee water in your very veins Billy boy. I can only assume, his heading West as he hopes the chances of him running into Kerry at some stage will be far less! Sure Mayo ain`t exactly the green and gold! Though personally I think Roscommon have good chance of throwing their weight around over next few seasons.

wouldnt surprise me, the man eats, sleeps and breathes football. Was beside him at a concert once when he was working out team formations on back of an envelope - during the concert!
Would be good for Galway as well. Disagree with Roscommon, don`t think they have the quality or numbers to be dominate at all over next few years.

Ya, but it was always Cork football!! Thats what made the -er dangerous, he just wouldn`t quit, no matter how many times we sent him packing!

To the best of my knowledge Billy Morgan`s father was from the Mullagh parish in east Galway. I dont think we should go for another `outside` manager as I expect the next few years to be very difficult for Galway and cannot see the benefit of spending big bucks on a hogh profile non-Galwayman.
Just wondering if any Galway fans out there know of the state of finances of our football board with their main sponsor Aer Arann being in severe difficulties at the moment. Can we blame that on Big Joe too?!!!

In fairness, Dave Barry (the Cork Legend ) said on Newstalk this am that Cork were probably the second best team in Ireland over the last four years. Such rebel honesty is commendable.

Billy`s a bad idea.

His mother and father were from the parish of Mullagh/Killoran, both are buried in Killaghton, between Ahascragh and Ballinasloe, so he has big connections, he`s actually a distant cousin of my own, and has relations scattered all over the county.

Joe Kernan`s mother was from Ballinasloe.
Galway should be looking internally.

That`s the problem they are taking the ``inter`` part too literally...always a grave error.

Araby, thanks for that. Its Killalaghton Cemetery in the parish of Cappataggle. So tell us, is there any truth to the rumours about Billy being interested in the Galway job?!!

Id like to see Morgan get it. A football man to the back bone and hugely determined. Could be the man to kick ar*es back into shape in Galway football.
Its interesting too that it was Mulholland bookies who suspended betting on it because I,m fairly sure this chain is owned by Alan Mulholland who was also interested in the job so he should know..

you`d need talent to be there for that to happen...to many light weights on the panel for the `last few years...galway club football standard has slipped no end...

if he gets the job i would never again go watch them in league or c`ship, there is something bout him i just cant warm to as a person and any way why not give it to a galway man (gerry fahy ) and give him a few years 4-5 to build a team
